Race Day Details:
A Timing Chipped
Event:
• Chip pick-up will be in the North parking lot of the Calgary
Zoo. RACE DAY ONLY.
• The race starts at 8am.
The Start of the race is accessed from the main North parking lot of
the Calgary Zoo. Park your vehicle and walk down the hill (away from
the Zoo entrance) towards the Cequel Energy Lodge. Follow the signs
for the Cequel Lodge turning right under the bridge. Indoor washrooms
and water fountains can be found there.
The race begins
from the Cequel Energy Lodge and follows a path through the Zoo, then
northbound outside the Zoo completing on the pathways at the start of
Leg 2 (about 500m from the Cequel Lodgegate).
The remainder of
the route will continue on the pathways turning at 14th Street NW and
finishing at the West Gate Zoo parking lot (NOT the main, North parking
lot).
PLEASE NOTE
THAT THE START AND FINISH OF THE RACE ARE IN DIFFERENT LOCATIONS. THE
HAND STAMP IS FOR SECURITY PURPOSES ONLY AND WILL NOT PROVIDE ADMISSION
TO THE ZOO. FOR ZOO ADMISSION, THE ZOO PASS IN THE RACE PACKAGE IS REQUIRED!
How to carry
your Timing Chip:
Solo Runners: Strap
the chip to your ankle and run across the ground mats
Relay Runners: Carry the chip by hand and pass over the chip mats on
tables prior to hand-off.
ALL RELAY
CHIPS MUST BE PASSED OVER THE CHIP MATS AT LEG 2, LEG 3, AND THE FINISH.
